Good that has emerged from our difficulties economic climate is a sense of awareness. Many people are starting to look more closely at their bank accounts to see where their money is going and to seek ways to save on costs. Consequently, a common renovation these days is the addition of a gym at home. Not only to save the monthly fee of the club, but also in more gas and time spent going back and forth. In the same spirit, and gain in popularity, the study of yoga at home. Instead of trekking to the nearest gym before and after work, just open the door to your little studio right in the comfort of your home. Here are some ideas to help you start to configure your own yoga space. Finding the perfect location: it can be as simple as converting an extra bedroom or office, or by using a part of your existing games room. If any of these options are available, you may consider renovating an attic or a loft above a garage. The space you choose, it must be flat, have natural light and be sufficiently soundproofed. Prepare your space: Remember, this is a place where you are closed, and when you practice you need to feel separated from the rest of the house. Completely eliminate your bathroom clutter and distractions that can interfere with the ability to concentrate. The ground must be completely level, and preferably of wood, bamboo, tile or cork. You should have enough space to extend over 360 degrees without hitting anything. Paint the walls with nontoxic paint in a color that is pleasing to the eye easily and produces calming effects. Attach mirrors on the walls, in view of which it is practiced. Allowing natural light to flow as much as possible, but have a dimmer switch for your practice that evening. Avoid fluorescent lighting difficult – it can be difficult for the eyes and not conducive to the practice of yoga. Get a small combo TV / DVD for your yoga tapes, and put it in a place where it can be easily read without twisting. A small hi-fi is also useful for relaxing music. If possible, checking the temperature to share your yoga room, and keep it on a 75 to 85 degrees F at home to help keep your muscles warm and flexible. If you are practicing hot yoga, we recommend the temperature higher than 105 degrees F. Depending on your preferences, here are some supplies may be useful to have on hand a yoga mat, blankets, towels and drinking water, candles, cushions and meditation. Keep the room clean and store these items in baskets or in a closet. Decorations must be rare and limited to items that have special meaning. It is advisable to insert a pair of bamboo or other similar plants. Above all, do not try to use the site for other than its intended use. This is your sanctuary, where you set the time by just for your yoga practice. Ultimately, your room should feel comfortable and cozy – the perfect escape for relaxation.
